28th: Today I went on my first school trip with the Form 1s. I went to KLCC so that I could go up the Petronus towers, the tallest twin towers in Asia. After the towers, we got a lunch break where I went to McDonalds to try the Durian flavoured McFlurry; the McFlurry flavour was not good at all. After lunch, the school’s batch and I went towards the KLCC aquarium called aquaria. There I met a boy that everyone calls YB who spent some time living in Texas; YB is a term that stands for Yang Berhormat who is a member of parliament. A YB is known for their songkot which is known for being taller than the norm.
29th: Today I stayed in the staff room all day so that I could learn more about the school and planning lessons.
The normal day lasts from about 7:30 am to 2:30 pm from Mondays to Thursdays. However on Fridays, the day is shortened so it ends earlier at 12:30 pm. If I were to have a 7:30 lesson, I would need to clock in my lunch card at 7, but if I have any other lesson, I should clock in by 8.
Today was also the first school day in which I was able to wear my batik shirt which I later found out wasn’t Malaysian but Indonesian. Plus in the evening, I attended prep time for students between 9 and 11 pm where they would do homework, sit in their class and would get help from teachers if they need it.
30th: Today I did the same as yesterday but dressed up in my Baju melayu, serong, and songkot. However, I stayed in the office until about 9ish to do some work set by another teacher so that I could have an understanding of the level of the English each Form (Year group) should have. After leaving the office, some Form 4 boys escorted me towards a building they call the kiosk where the entrepreneur’s club would sell food and drinks at a steep prize.
Well done Seb
